In May of 2003, Award Baking moved into its parent company's building. Kenny B's Cookie Company, located in New Germany, Minnesota is just 40 miles West of Minneapolis. We feel very much at home in our small community, and feel appropriately placed in a town with such a strong European heritage, matching that of our products.

While we have no retail store at our facility, our popular "broken oblaten bags" of discounted oblaten as well as our other products are available at Cliff and Molly's coffee and sandwhich shop on East Broadway, just 1/2 block from our New Germany facility. Please call them at 952-353-1671, ahead of your visit, for their business hours. Pre-arranged tours of our facility are also available to school groups and other civic organizations. The photos to the right and below show some of the interesting and uncommon pieces of equipment we utilize in creating our unique oblaten dessert wafers. Also shown are several of our valuable employees who make it all happen. Our German-made "bakers" utilize waffle-like irons to bake our oblaten batter to a specific temperature. Our sprinkler adds the mixture of powdered sugar, crushed almonds, vanilla, and flavoring to the oblaten, and the fuser applies just enough heat to fuse two oblaten wafers with the confection.

All Award Baking products are baked and packaged by hand, allowing that "home-made" quality to come through in all our work. Even our "mascot" sign reminds us each day that no matter how many customers we serve throughout our country and parts of the world, we still think of ourselves as the "Oblaten Shop" down the street.
